Feminature Uganda announces the 2020 Volunteer Program

Department: Programs (2 positions) and Front Desk (1 position) Feminature Uganda is a women-led, not-for-profit, non-partisan organisation registered in 2016 to spearhead the socio-economic, political transformation of women and girls through initiatives that provide a platform of self-help for participatory advancement of households with women making informed decisions geared towards their own transformation. Feminature looks forward to a community where women, children and girls enjoy equal and equitable rights and opportunities with their male counterparts, regardless of their religious profession, race, social- economic standing or sexual orientation.

Feminature Uganda is looking for self-motivated, dynamic, hardworking and innovative graduates aged 25 – 34 years for its 2020 volunteer program. Volunteer shall be based in our main office in Arua – West Nile Region. The volunteer program is for a period of 5 months, (July – December 2020). The program aims at providing hands on experience in working with a human rights and gender specific organization that advocates for the rights of women, children and youth, with the possibility of employment.

Eligibility criteria

1. The candidate should have at least a Bachelor’s degree in social sciences or a related field with a minimum of one (1) year working experience in a not-for-profit/non-governmental organisation

2. Diploma and experience in project planning and management is an added advantage

3. Candidate must be between 22-34 years of age. Please attach copy of your National ID

4. Candidate must be computer literate with proficiency in Ms. Word, Excel and Power Point with an average typing speed of at least 50 wpm.

5. Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills are required and the candidate should speak at least one of the native languages of the West Nile Region.

6. In-depth understanding of the nonprofit sector and demonstrated evidence of a commitment to social change, community-based organizations, and diversity.

The roles of successful candidates shall be but not limited to;

To liaise with the program manager on the management of current projects
Take part in outreach programs
Be an ambassador of the organization to the community
Represent the organization in meetings and conferences as shall be assigned
To actively participate in proposal and concept note development
Documentation of project and organization program outcomes
Any other assigned roles
