Organization Background
Feminature Uganda is a women-led, not-for-profit, non-partisan organisation founded in 2016 to spearhead the socio-economic, political transformation of women, youth and children through initiatives that provide a platform of self-help for participatory advancement of households with them making informed decisions geared towards their own transformation. Feminature looks forward to a community where women, youth and children enjoy equal and equitable rights and opportunities, regardless of their religious profession, race, social-economic standing or sexual orientation. Project background:
In West Nile, Climate change is mainly manifested in extremes of two attributes – rainfall and temperatures. The targeted district is always very hot and dry in December to March. Agriculture, livestock, poultry, and fisheries are affected by the climate conditions. There is increased heat stress for crops and livestock, lowering the productivity of pastoral livelihoods and negatively impacting the production of important crops. Small holder farmers lack the technical knowledge and skills on irrigation and irrigation technologies, and have limited access to complementary inputs. With funding from aBi Development Feminature Uganda will be implementing the project, ‘Supporting Small Holder Farmers to Increase Their Resilience to Climate Change and climate Variability’ in Madi-Okollo District. The purpose of the project is to increase smallholder farmer resilience to climate change and climate variability. The project seeks to promote the use of renewable energy-efficient water systems, cultivate and distribute climate-resilient seeds to improve production & productivity to promote climate resilient agriculture, food security and inclusion.
Goal of Project
The overall goal of the project is to reduce the vulnerability of smallholder farmers to climate change through the adoption of climate adaptation and mitigation interventions, hence contributing to food security and increased incomes for smallholder farmers in Madi Okollo district
Key Outputs of the project:
- Sensitizing of 40 farmer groups consisting of 80% women and youth in climate change mitigation/environment.
- Training of at least 1000 farmers in CSA practices & modern technologies for irrigation, agroforestry, fruit trees and vegetable growing.
- Establishing of 10 tree nurseries natural trees, and medical trees at parish level.
- Procurement of 10 portable solar powered irrigation kits for demonstration purpose at farmer group level, for 10 groups.
- Distribution of 5,000 fruit tree seedlings to 40 smallholder farmer groups.
- Training staff and Board members in Business Management and Governance.
- Training of 40 groups in VSLA approach & link them to financial Institutions/SACCOs.

Organise a two (2) day training for the project staff and board of Feminature Uganda on business and governance.

– Participate in an inception meeting (preferably via phone calls) and write a report capturing recommendations to incorporate in the training session plan
– Develop agenda for each activity for pre-approval and alignment with project goal
– Develop Pre-and Posttest evaluation forms
– Develop Relevant training and IEC materials,
– Produce report at the end of the training with among others
– Provide clear action photos, key quotes (where possible), and logical deductions using template to be provided.
– Development of an action plan to follow-up on areas of the training
– A video documentary of the training submitted. |
– University degree preferably in the field of law, human rights, and/or any other relevant field of training in the field of digital safety and security
– Or relevant proven experience relating to training topics
– Current practical experience and understanding of the NGO Act & regulations, trends in the NGO management and teamwork.

Methodology for exercise
The training should be customized and participatory ensuring that all staff and members of the board are fully engaged
Timeline for assignment:
- Inception Meeting with Feminature 2nd October 2023.
- Development of the training schedule/sessions and content to be reviewed on 3rd October 2023.
- Facilitate training on 4th & 5th October 2023 at venue to be determined.
- Draft Report due Monday 9th October 2023
- Final Report and other deliverables due 13th October 2023
Payments and benefits
Feminature will pay the consultant for the assignment an amount that shall be agreed upon following identification of the individual to undertake the exercise.
Payment to the consultant shall be made all at once at the end of the training to the bank account to be provided by the consultant. Payments are subject to a 6% With Holding Tax deduction.

The ideal Consultant will have knowledge of and proven expertise on the following;
- Excellent advocacy and representation skills, ability to build effective working relationships to facilitate communication with various actors.
- Excellent knowledge in business management, organisation governance, legal and policy framework and operating environment of Civil Society Organisations in Uganda
- Exceptional leadership skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Contextual knowledge and experience in advocacy and the training topics
- Experience in designing training programmes that include role-play, mock trials, or other creative learning approaches.
- Knowledge and sensitivity to the socio-political context and civic space in west Nile region of Uganda especially areas of operation of Feminature Uganda
- Experience in creating strategic documents and setting up evaluations
- Excellent analytical and reporting skills
- Experience in workshop and training facilitation
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills in English
