Feminature Uganda is a women-led, youth focused, not-for-profit, non-partisan organization registered in 2016 to spearhead the socio-economic, transformation of women and youth through initiatives that provide a platform of self-help for participatory advancement of households with women making informed decisions geared towards their own transformation. Feminature looks forward to a community where women, children and girls enjoy equal and equitable rights and opportunities with their male counterparts, regardless of their religious profession, race, social- economic standing or sexual orientation.

Under her component of Education, skills and livelihood development, Feminature has implemented 3 key projects and one of them “empowerment of young entrepreneurs in enterprise development and management” is one of the key projects that greatly enhanced the capacity of the Organization in the area of enterprise development and management. Feminature has a vibrant, highly qualified and experienced team (board and staff) in the respective organizational thematic areas including education, skills and livelihood development who have and are successfully implementing integrated women and youth focused projects. The organization also has strong internal control systems and policy documents which are basement for all organizational operations.

Project Summery

The Community enterprise identification, development and management Program is a development program that seeks to offer market-driven training to the marginalized youth groups i.e. teenage mothers, out of school youth, street youth and the unemployed youth fraternity of Arua district and its surrounding communities. Under this program falls the Skilling Youth (SKY) for Increased Employability by December 2022 project. The development of this project is hinged on situational facts and statistics that reflect the lamentable plight of young people in the district and surrounding communities particularly in the face of and amidst the ravaging and scavenging COVID-19 pandemic.

Data Entry Clerk responsibilities

Transferring data from paper formats into computer files or database systems

Typing in data provided directly from customers

Creating spreadsheets with large numbers of figures without mistakes

Job Brief

We are looking for a Data Entry Clerk to type information into our database from paper documents. The ideal candidate will be computer savvy and a fast typist with a keen eye for detail. You will report to a data manager or another senior data team member. Understanding of data confidentiality principles is compulsory.

Feminature Uganda will rely on you for having accurate and updated data that are easily accessible through a digital database.

Responsibilities

Transfer data from paper formats into computer files or database systems using keyboards, data recorders or optical scanners

  • Type in data provided directly from project beneficiaries
  • Create spreadsheets with large numbers of figures without mistakes
  • Verify data by comparing it to source documents
  • Update existing data
  • Retrieve data from the database or electronic files as requested
  • Perform regular backups to ensure data preservation
  • Sort and organize paperwork after entering data to ensure it is not lost

Requirements and skills

  • Proven experience as data entry clerk
  • Fast typing skills; Knowledge of touch typing system is strongly preferred
  • Excellent knowledge of word processing tools and spreadsheets (MS Office Word, Excel and Access etc.)
  • Working knowledge of office equipment and computer hardware and peripheral devices
  • Basic understanding of databases
  • Good command of English both oral and written and customer service skills
  • Great attention to detail
  • High school degree or equivalent
