01
Human Rights, Governance & Democracy
Fostering Civic Responsibility and Responsive Governance
We believe that a resilient society is built on informed civic participation
and constructive engagement between communities and local structures.
Feminature Uganda works to strengthen institutional governance and enhance
community-led civic awareness. We focus on building the capacity of
grassroots youth, women, and community structures to understand local
government policy processes, contribute to community dialogues, and
actively participate in local development planning. By fostering
constitutional literacy and civic responsibility, we support government
structures in executing inclusive, transparent, and responsive public
service delivery.
02
Sexual Reproductive Health Rights & Community
Advancing Inclusive Health Literacy and Wellbeing
Our approach to community health is rooted in dignity, bodily well-being
and autonomy, and equitable access to information. We work across refugee
and host communities to advance comprehensive sexual, reproductive &
community health literacy, ensuring that adolescent girls, young women, and
vulnerable populations have the knowledge and safety to make informed
choices about their lives and futures. We collaborate closely with public
health structures and community mentors to break down barriers to vital
health services, mitigate technology-facilitated harms affecting mental and
physical well-being, and champion inclusive health care models that leave
no one behind.
03
Livelihood, Skills Development and Economic Justice & Empowerment
Circular Economy, and Green Skills
True autonomy is anchored in economic resilience. We transform
environmental challenges into viable livelihoods through innovative
circular economy initiatives, and green entrepreneurship. We provide women
and youth in both refugee and host communities with market-relevant
vocational skills, financial literacy, and enterprise development training.
By linking economic empowerment directly with environmental sustainability,
we build self-reliant household economies that drive local economic growth.
04
Climate Justice & Action
Eco-Feminism, Environmental Stewardship, and Circular Innovations
Grassroots women and girls are the primary stewards of our natural
resources, yet they bear the brunt of environmental degradation. Feminature
Uganda champions eco-feminist solutions that place frontline communities at
the center of conservation and climate resilience. We mobilize community-led
environmental stewardship through practical climate action, including
tree-growing initiatives, sustainable energy adoption, and land-rights
awareness. By blending indigenous knowledge with modern ecological
practices, we empower communities to protect their ecosystems while
adapting to a changing climate.
05
Peace & Migration
Social Cohesion, Women-Led Initiative for Peace, and Integrated Communities
Located in a region shaped by cross-border movement, we are deeply committed
to fostering harmony, safety, and mutual resilience among diverse
populations. We work to prevent digital and physical harms, build social
cohesion, and ensure that displacement does not mean disenfranchisement.
Through collaborative community integration, we co-create peaceful, secure
environments where both displaced and host populations can thrive together
and be safe from violent extremism.
06
Movement Building
Stronger Women and Girl Movements for Gender Justice
We believe that those closest to the challenge are closest to the solution.
Instead of imposing top-down interventions, we focus on collective power and
bottom-up transformation. We identify, mentor, and connect grassroots women,
girls, and youth, equipping them with leadership skills, digital safety
toolkits, and civic awareness. By fostering intergenerational dialogue and
mentorship networks, we turn isolated efforts into powerful, community-led
movements capable of driving local change and shifting restrictive norms
from within.
